To Brian. Debian is not supported. If you really can’t see the advantages of running Debian, then it really better to run RedHat since it is supported by both Dell and VMWare…

Is Debian a supported platform for VMWare Server and/or OMSA?

Wondering the reasons of your choice of Debian. We ended up using CentOS 5 x86_64 on a 1950 and had no issues with OMSA or VMWare Server whatsoever (just required two or three compat-xxxx.i386 packages installed). But of course CentOS is a RedHat clone.

Curious if Debian offers anything worth the effort.
